Course Description:  Technical course designed for staff members responsible for conducting the daily acrylic inspections to meet the provisions of ASME-PVHO-2-2003. This course includes a practical lab for hands-on training. Additionally, orientation and training is given on window maintenance inspection and the seat & seal inspection. This portion of the course is primarily to prepare the student to assess the skills of a company before outsourcing the window maintenance and seat & seal inspections.

Objective:  The primary objective of this course is to prepare the student to conduct the daily acrylic inspection and meet the provisions of ASME-PVHO-2-2003 “Safety Standard for Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy In-Service Guidelines for PVHO Acrylics. Students will be able to establish a facility specific acrylic inspection program, conduct an Operational Window Inspection, know how to properly outsource the Window Maintenance and Seat & Seal Inspections, and to properly train staff members upon their return to their facility.

Who Should Attend: Certified Hyperbaric Technologists, Technicians, CHRNs, nurses, respiratory therapists, physicians and facility department managers or those who desire specific training on PVHO Acrylic Inspections. Students attending this course should be prepared to participate in focused work groups and participate in hands-on labs.

Prerequisites:  Due to the technical nature of this training, it is recommended that students attending this course have a strong hyperbaric background and must participate for the full eight-hours to receive credit for attendance at this course.
